BLACKPINK’s Jennie and aespa have earned prestigious recognition at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
On February 13, Billboard unveiled the honorees for this year’s highly anticipated ceremony. Set to take place on March 29 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, the event will be hosted by Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox.
Among the 10 honorees announced, aespa received the Group of the Year award for their “groundbreaking achievements in music and international recognition.” BLACKPINK’s Jennie, on the other hand, will be honored with the Global Force award, recognizing her “exploding global influence” as she embarks on her solo career.
Details about the presenters, performers, and the Woman of the Year award will be revealed soon, with tickets for the event now available for purchase.
Billboard’s editorial director, Hannah Karp, expressed excitement about the ceremony, stating, “We’re honoured to highlight their outstanding achievements and contributions through unforgettable performances, powerful tributes, and an evening that will truly shine a spotlight on their impact.”
“It’s a privilege to continue Billboard’s tradition of recognising the women who are pushing the boundaries of music and culture,” she added, eagerly anticipating the event.
Jennie is preparing for the release of her solo debut album Ruby on March 7, featuring 15 tracks and collaborations with artists like Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis. Her fourth pre-release track, Extral, featuring Doechii, will be released on February 21.
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment recently previewed its music releases for the first half of 2025. aespa is expected to release a mini-album in the second quarter of the year, with other SM artists like Red Velvet’s Irene & Seulgi, EXO’s Kai, and NCT’s Mark also set to drop new music in the same period.
