Indie duo Girl Tones have released their latest single, “I Know You Know,” a departure from their usual high-energy alternative rock, embracing a more delicate and atmospheric sound. The track, produced by Cage The Elephant’s Brad Shultz, explores the emotional fallout of dealing with a self-proclaimed pathological liar, as lead singer Kenzie explains.
Shultz’s involvement comes as both bands embark on a European tour, which kicked off on February 13 in Glasgow and will conclude on February 26 in Paris.
Speaking to NME, Girl Tones shared their excitement:
“We are incredibly excited to be opening for Cage The Elephant on tour. It’s such an honor to play with them and explore the world at the same time!”
Regarding the single’s sound, they added:
“It takes a slight detour from our usual style but still fits within our universe. The eerie lyrics combined with fuzzy guitar textures create a unique sonic journey.”
Shultz praised the band’s talent and determination:
“The first time I saw Girl Tones live, I immediately felt connected to their music. They’re the kind of band that will be around for a long time. They know exactly who they are and where they want to go, and I’m thrilled to have them join us on tour.”

Cage The Elephant to Support Oasis on 2025 Reunion Tour
In other news, Brad Shultz recently opened up about Cage The Elephant being invited to support Oasis on their much-anticipated 2025 North American reunion tour.
“I think I might have blacked out a little bit when I heard the news!” he admitted.
For Shultz and his brother Matt (Cage The Elephant’s vocalist), the opportunity is especially meaningful:
“Oasis is a band we grew up with. The second song I ever learned on guitar was ‘Wonderwall.’ Not too shabby for my first two songs!”
He continued, praising Oasis for their enduring appeal:
“They’ve always had a songwriting sensibility that stands the test of time. They make records you can listen to front to back. Some bands just don’t miss, and they’re one of them.”
