Kendrick Lamar Composes New Song for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

In an exciting reveal, actor Anthony Mackie, who stars as the new Captain America, confirmed that Kendrick Lamar has written the title song for the upcoming superhero film Captain America: Brave New World. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mackie shared, “Kendrick did the title song for my movie. Hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise! I’m breaking it here first. I’m so excited, man. Lamar’s collaboration with the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows his success with the 2018 Black Panther soundtrack. The rapper curated the album and contributed chart-topping tracks such as “All The Stars” with SZA and “Pray For Me” with The Weeknd.

While the release date for Lamar’s new track for Captain America: Brave New World remains under wraps, it may coincide with the film’s debut on February 14, 2025. This song marks Lamar’s first new release of the year, following the surprise drop of his sixth studio album, GNX, in November 2024.

In other news, Lamar and SZA have announced a joint UK and European stadium tour following their memorable Super Bowl performance. Online streams of “Not Like Us” have surged by 430% since the show.

As for Captain America: Brave New World, early reactions have started to trickle in, with Anthony Mackie receiving praise for his portrayal of the new Captain America, Sam Wilson.
