Lady Gaga Joins Andy Samberg for Surprise ‘Dick In A Box’ Performance at ‘SNL50’

Lady Gaga teamed up with Andy Samberg for an unexpected medley of The Lonely Island’s biggest hits during Saturday Night Live’s SNL 50: The Homecoming concert. Watch the moment unfold below.

The event, held on February 14 to commemorate SNL’s 50th anniversary, featured a star-studded lineup with Jimmy Fallon as host and Lorne Michaels and Mark Ronson as executive producers.

While Gaga had been announced as a performer alongside the Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White, and Miley Cyrus, fans anticipated she would debut Abracadabra, a recent single from her upcoming album Mayhem.

Instead, the pop icon surprised the audience by joining Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg, who donned a wig and cowboy hat to attempt Bradley Cooper’s part in a cover of Shallow from A Star Is Born.

The performance took a comedic turn when Gaga stopped Samberg mid-song, declaring, “I gotta stop you, because it’s bad.” She then suggested switching to something “more in [his] vocal range.”

“There’s one song, but Justin [Timberlake] isn’t here to do his parts,” Samberg noted. Without hesitation, Gaga fired back: “Andy, don’t be a bitch. I’ll do it with you.” The duo then launched into Dick in a Box, The Lonely Island’s viral 2006 Christmas parody, originally performed with Timberlake on SNL.

The performance escalated into an all-out musical spectacle, with surprise appearances from Bad Bunny, T-Pain, Chris Parnell, Eddie Vedder, and former Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone. Together, they delivered a high-energy mashup of Motherlove, Lazy Sunday, I’m On a Boat, Jack Sparrow, and Jizz in My Pants.

Elsewhere during the night, Nirvana’s surviving members—Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Pat Smear—reunited for the second time in two weeks. This time, they were joined by Post Malone, who took on lead vocals for an electrifying rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Miley Cyrus also took the stage for a powerful performance of her Grammy-winning hit Flowers, making waves online with shoutouts to Paul Rudd, Adam Sandler, and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.

The 50th-anniversary festivities will continue on Sunday, February 16, with the SNL 50 Anniversary Special. The event has already confirmed appearances from Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, and Paul Simon.

As part of the milestone celebration, SNL is also rolling out exclusive content, including Saturday Night, a feature film, and a Questlove-directed documentary exploring the show’s impact on music.
